Sanjay Subrahmanyan was born on January 21, 1968, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is a renowned Indian musician specializing in the field of Carnatic Music. Sanjay began learning music at the age of seven under V. Lakshminarayana on the violin and vocal music. After switching to vocal music, he was trained by Rukmini Rajagopalan for a few years and later by Calcutta K.S Krishnamurthy. The training under K.S Krishnamurthy led to innovations and blending of tradition and modernity. Sanjay continues to learn from Nadaswaram maestro Semponarkoil SRD Vaidyanathan and also teaches music. As an award-winning musician, he has performed in many concerts across India and overseas, enthralling his audiences with his powerful and energetic voice.
