Trichy B. Harikumar hails from Changanasery, Kerala and was moulded into the bani of the late mridangam maestro Palakkad Shri Mani Iyer by his illustrious guru Mavelikkara Shri Velukkutty Nair. He has completed a post-graduation in mridangam from the Swathi Tirunal Music College. He has been with the All India Radio, Tiruchi since 1989 as a staff artist.
